Blaze of Hope Code of Conduct Agreement

Dear [Board Member/Volunteer/Participant],

Welcome to Blaze of Hope! We are grateful for your dedication to our mission of supporting and empowering children. To ensure a safe, respectful, and positive environment for all participants, volunteers, and staff, we ask that you adhere to the following Code of Conduct. These guidelines reflect the values and expectations that help us maintain the integrity of our organization and the well-being of the children and families we serve.
 

1. Respect for Others

  • Treat everyone with kindness, dignity, and appreciation.

  • Use inclusive language and actions that promote a positive and respectful environment.

  • Avoid any behavior that could be perceived as discriminatory, harassing, or offensive.


2. Professionalism

  • Maintain appropriate boundaries with children, families, and fellow participants.

  • Dress in a manner that is safe, respectful, and appropriate for your role.

  • Represent Blaze of Hope with professionalism and integrity at all times.

  • Refrain from using nicotine products while participating in Blaze of Hope activities.


3. Safety First

  • Prioritize the physical and emotional safety of children at all times.

  • Report any safety concerns or well-being issues immediately to a supervisor or board member.


4. Confidentiality

  • Respect the privacy of children, families, volunteers, and staff.

  • Do not share personal or sensitive information outside the organization unless required by law or with explicit consent from the individual or guardian.

  • Keep all confidential materials, including records and communications, secure.


5. Zero Tolerance for Abuse

  • Blaze of Hope strictly prohibits all forms of physical, emotional, or verbal abuse.

  • Physical discipline, harassment, or any abusive behavior will not be tolerated.

  • Report any suspected or actual abuse immediately to a supervisor or board member.


6. Substance Use

  • Blaze of Hope maintains a drug-free and professional environment.

  • Volunteers, staff, and participants must not use or be under the influence of non-prescription drugs while representing the organization or attending events.


7. Conflict Resolution

  • Address conflicts calmly, respectfully, and professionally.

  • Work collaboratively to find solutions. If needed, seek assistance from a supervisor or board member.


8. Commitment to the Mission

  • Support and engage with Blaze of Hope’s mission to empower families through education, advocacy, and a positive environment.

  • Attend scheduled meetings and volunteer commitments to stay informed and contribute to the organization’s success.


Consequences of Non-Compliance
 

Failure to follow this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, including removal from the board, termination of volunteer or staff roles, or legal action if warranted. â€‹â€‹
